Water Test Results

Dear Parent:

As part of the work we do to attend to the health and wellbeing of all of our students and staff, we are proactive in checking the quality of water within each of our school buildings.

Recently, we volunteered to have each building tested to check lead levels in our water. It's our understanding that this will eventually be required, and we want to be proactive in checking our water and ensuring it falls within the standard range. The results can be found below for each place tested. Please note that the middle school was not tested, as it is being closed down and transformed into a 5-6 building, which will be tested upon its opening. We are awaiting the results from South Elementary and will post them when they become available.

We had a few buildings that had little to no lead present, some that fell well within the range that is desired, and a few buildings that had water spaces with levels above 0.005 milligrams per liter, which is just above the standard for bottled water.

If a measure is above 0.005 mg/L, we shut that particular water source down, address the fixtures immediately and retest to be sure that it falls within the standard range. We did this with each space that tested above 0.005 mg/L and are awaiting a retest of these spaces before we go back to standard use.

We have provided each report we received at the bottom of this letter. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Maintenance Supervisor Fred Wilks.

Thank you for your time and partnership!
