Grades 4-6 Robotics
Is your child interested in joining an after-school robotics team? At Grandville Public Schools, students in 4th, 5th and 6th grades can join a competitive robotics team.
VEX IQ is one of the largest educational robotics programs in the world. Students in grades 4th, 5th and 6th can be on a VEX IQ robotics team. Teams use special VEX IQ parts to build and program a robot to compete in weekly league play and Saturday tournaments. The season will be late October through February. FIRST Lego League has been a Grandville tradition for over 20 years for students in grades 4th, 5th and 6th. Students build and program a robot using Lego bricks. Teams complete a STEAM research project and prepare a presentation explaining their STEAM project. The season will be September through December. Meeting Location
Parents/guardians will need to attend a robotics information meeting before their child will be assigned to a team. The information meetings will be held at the Elementary Robotics Center at 4874 Canal at the intersection of Canal and Jacob. If you cannot attend your school’s meeting time, plan to attend any of the meetings that work in your schedule. Overflow parking is available at the Grandville Middle School.

Our elementary robotics teams are coached by volunteer parent coaches. Please consider coaching your child’s team this year.
Grades 7-8 Robotics
Middle School Robotics
Registration is now open for 2024-25 Grandville Middle School robotics teams! Students in 7th and 8th grade who attend Grandville Middle School are eligible to participate in the robotics program. They can compete in VEX V5, RECF Aerial Drones, MultiGP Drone Racing and Spring Combat Robots.
Information Night
Parents and students should attend the Grandville Middle School Robotics Information Night on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 7 pm at the Robotics Competition Center at 4900 Canal Ave. SW on the west end of Grandville Middle School.
