Angie Thornburgh, Director of Student Services, has announced her decision to retire at the end of the 2021-22 school year. She has served in this role since 2010, overseeing student services and special education programs. She first joined the district in 2002, when she was hired as a building administrator. To help ensure a smooth segue and continued supports for the students, staff and Grandville Public Schools community, the district has hired a new director to fill her role and begin the transition work.

Caroline Ernst, current Assistant Principal at Grandville High School, will serve as the new Director of Student Services beginning in July 2022. From January through June, she will work with Mrs. Thornburgh to transition into the office as director. Mrs. Ernst has been a dedicated Grandville employee for many years, having served as a teacher for 14 years before beginning her role in building administration in 2015. She received her Master's in Education Administration from Grand Valley State University. With her passion for the Bulldog community and a wealth of knowledge and experience, she looks forward to getting to know the families she will serve.

We are indebted to Mrs. Thornburgh for her 20 years of leadership in the district. Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Thornburgh on her retirement and welcoming Mrs. Ernst to her new role!
