Adriana Allen

In addition to her NHS leadership, Adriana was a two-year drum major for the marching band and a captain for both the swim and water polo teams, demonstrating her strength as a leader across a wide range of activities. She credits Mr. Kleinsasser, her Honors Algebra II teacher, for teaching her the value of persistence and asking for help — providing a lesson that reshaped her academic mindset. Adriana is the daughter of Andrea and Nicholas Allen.
Seth Datema

In addition to his academic and leadership pursuits, Seth discovered a passion for rock climbing through the GHS Climbing Club, drawn to the mental challenge and problem-solving required in the sport. He credits Mr. Van Hekken, his seminar teacher, for playing a key role in his academic success by consistently keeping him accountable. Seth is the son of Ashley Pemberton and Justin Datema.

Her ability to bring stories to life through film reflects a unique blend of artistic vision and intellectual curiosity. Kaelyn is the daughter of Michelle and Matthew Loverin.
Sam McCarthy

Whether on the field or performing as a musician, Sam brought passion and discipline to everything he did at GHS. His dual pursuits in athletics and the fine arts showcase a well-rounded student who leads with both heart and determination. Sam is the son of Anne and Adam McCarthy.
Ruby McKellar

Beyond NHS, Ruby found joy in giving back and growing her interests. She was an active member of the Garden Club and volunteered weekly at Sunset Senior Communities, reflecting her thoughtful and community-minded spirit. Ruby is especially grateful to Mr. VanderWall and Mrs. Carrick for their encouragement and for making learning an engaging and enjoyable experience. She is the daughter of Stephanie and Christopher McKellar.
Henry Parker

Henry credits much of his academic growth to two influential teachers: Mrs. Perry, his physics teacher, and Ms. Stouten, his calculus teacher. He appreciates not only their deep understanding of their subjects but also their ability to make complex concepts clear and approachable. Henry is the son of Melissa and Brian Parker.
Maximilian Poehlman

Outside the classroom, Maximilian was a dedicated member of the boys soccer program, playing on the varsity team for three years and earning both All-District Honors and Academic All-State recognition. He also gave back to the program by helping with summer conditioning alongside the middle school coach. He is the son of Jacqueline and Alexander Poehlman.
Allison Schick

Allison’s dream is to become a math teacher, a goal inspired by Ms. Stouten. She credits Ms. Stouten’s enthusiasm for math and her supportive approach with helping shape both her academic path and personal growth. She says Ms. Stouten encouraged her to take on new challenges and sees the potential for growth in all students. Allison is the daughter of Jennifer and Bill Schick.
Logan Schwandner

Logan’s leadership in robotics reflects both his technical skill and collaborative spirit, two qualities that will serve him well as he pursues a career at the intersection of medicine and engineering. He is the son of Jessica and Michael Schwandner.
James Weiss

An accomplished multi-sport athlete, James competed in five varsity sports during his time at GHS. He also nurtured a love for reading and writing and is currently working on a novel he hopes to publish one day. When it came to academics, James credits a unique team of supporters — Mr. Smedes, SparkNotes, Heimler’s History, Albert.io and OpenAI — for helping him prepare for his AP exams with confidence. He is the son of Laura and Kevin Weiss.
