2018 College & Career Conference for Seniors »

The GHS Counseling Department held its 4th Annual College & Career Conference for seniors. After identifying their areas of interest through a web-based career planning tool named Naviance, seniors signed up to meet with professionals from a range of industries.<br> <br>
Professionals on hand included electricians, technology specialists, construction workers, graphic designers, social workers, patent attorneys, Army representatives, physician assistants, restaurateurs, small business owners, cosmetologists, musicians, athletic trainers, school administrators, mental health counselors, program directors, DNR conservation officers, engineers, physical therapists, nurses, police officers, business professionals, child care providers, Adult Protective Service workers, accountants, and even a mayor and a doctor!

GRCC representatives gave a presentation in the auditorium lobby about their programs as well. College-bound seniors attended a seminar with a panel of teachers and staff in the auditorium to learn more about life during and after college. The entire day was designed to help seniors learn the "real scoop" about their future career and college possibilities, from real-life professionals with insight and guidance that cannot be gleaned from an internet search.
