Grandville Students Will Perform at DeVos

After an extensive audition process, five Grandville High School choir students were accepted into Michigan’s Honors Choir: Aleigha Berg, Kellan Dunlap, Destiny Kanning, Caleb Lockard and Mary McQuirter.

The girls will sing in an Honors Choir that will perform Jan. 19 at 6 p.m., and the boys will each sing in a different Honors Choir that will perform Jan. 21 at 3 p.m. in DeVos Performance Hall. The concerts are part of the Michigan Music Conference, which is celebrating its 12th year.

Eight Grandville Middle School girls were selected for the Middle School State Honors Choir: Kennedy Comstock, Mackenzie DeSantis-Smith, Aubrey Dykhuis, Claire Hunerdosse, Rachel Marfia, Caitlin McHugh, Elliana Schell and Liz VanderSlice. They will also perform Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. at DeVos Performance Hall.

Eighth-grader Ben Barker made the Middle School All-State Band (shown in top photo with his instrument), and Matt Burdick was selected for the High School All-State Band (shown third photo from top). They will perform Jan. 21 at 8 a.m. at DeVos. Connor Lang and Tessa Jarry received honorable mention for All-State Band and All-State Jazz Band, respectively.

As you might imagine, their music teachers are so proud of all of them! Ticket prices for the public are $10 for adults (18+), $5 for children (11-17), and free for children ages 10 and under.
