Robotics Information Night for Schools in West Michigan
- Robotics Information Night for Schools in West Michigan
- 5/29/2019, 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- 4900 Canal Ave SW, Wyoming, MI 49418, USA
You are invited to attend an entertaining night later this month which will provide information on competitive robotics programs for K-12 students. The meeting will bring together schools from across West Michigan and will take place on Wednesday, May 29, from 7-9pm at the Grandville Robotics Center, 4900 Canal SW, in Grandville (just south of Grandville High School).
Regardless of where your local schools are in their introduction of robotics programs, this session is designed to connect you with resources available to help you explore the introduction or expansion of robotics programs. The primary driver of this session is a huge surge of interest in VEX EDR at the middle school and high school level, but this session will also address the opportunities for robotics programs that serve the full K-12 age range.
VEX Robotics is the largest and fastest growing competitive robotics program for K-12 students in the world. There are multiple weekly Leagues and weekend tournaments already established in West Michigan. VEX Robotics provides programs for elementary, middle school, high school, and college students. Unlike other robotics programs, VEX is perfectly happy for schools to choose the programs that best fit them at the various ages. It has become very common for schools to do VEX EDR in the middle school and high school, while also having a high school FIRST Robotics Competition team. In Grandville, we run Lego League and VEX IQ side-by-side in our elementary schools, allowing parents and students to choose the program that best fits them.
Whether you already have robotics programs in your schools and are looking for new ideas, or you’re looking to get something new started, come join us for a fun evening. Feel free to pass this invitation on to others — the meeting is open to all, and our capacity at the Robotics Center is a couple hundred people.
If you can, please RSVP to email@example.com to let us know you’re coming. If the date comes along and you have not RSVP’d, don’t let that stop you from coming.
