Team 81 at GMS recently held its annual community service project. The students decorated 500 lunch sacks, packed 400 snack bags, and raised $2419 for Kids' Food Basket. The team walked 3 miles wearing posters with messages to inform the community that hunger is a problem, and they want to help end it. They spent the previous week in the four core classes studying the effects that hunger has on children. One student, Elizabeth Meendering, felt so compelled to help the cause that she collected $1,011 on her own! She went door-to-door asking for pop bottles or anything that people could offer.
