Dear Parent:

Here we are! We are eagerly anticipating the beginning of our 2020-21 school year next Monday. We are putting the finishing touches on our learning environments, both in person and remote, and we are excited to interact with our great Grandville Bulldogs!

How can you help? In compliance with the Executive Order (EO), we are requiring all in-person students (ECSE, Pre-K-12th) and staff to wear a mask each day with the exception of eating, etc. More important than compliance with the EO, we are asking that everyone wear a mask because some of the staff members who will be caring for your children do have health concerns.

Given their dedication to providing a safe face-to-face learning environment, we respectfully ask that everyone do their part and wear a mask as a sign of support and appreciation for the health and safety of all Grandville students and staff. No matter what your opinion is, it is important that we all follow the guidelines in place to ensure that we can continue to have an in-person opportunity for our kids and our community. Thank you for joining all of us in doing your part!

When a possible COVID situation arises, we will be working with the parent and the Kent County Health Department. If, at some time, your child needs to be quarantined due to exposure in or out of school, we will work with you to ensure the education of your child does not skip a beat. We plan to be reasonable as we do know kids have allergies, etc., but we do need to err on the side of safety if there are concrete symptoms that align with COVID-19.

These are a few major ways you can help us ensure the health, safety, and ability to provide options for our community. Your teamwork is so appreciated! Together, we can do this!

Educationally,

Roger Bearup
