Preventing the Spread of Illness

 
There are several steps you can take to help prevent the spread of illnesses: 
  • Wash hands frequently with warm water and soap, as this is one of the best ways to help prevent the spread of germs. Wash hands after toileting, before and after preparing food and eating, after caring for someone sick, after being exposed to bodily fluids (yours or others), or after touching popular items or surfaces.
  • Cough or sneeze into a tissue or your elbow fold instead of your hands or directly onto surfaces.
  • Keep your child's immunizations up to date.
  • Eat healthy meals, get plenty of rest, drink water, and exercise regularly to stay healthy. A strong body fights germs better.
