Protect Young Eyes — Internet Safety Series

Parents and guardians are invited to a series of six internet safety presentations that will be held in Grandville throughout the 2021-22 school year. There is no cost to attendees. The series, Protect Young Eyes, will equip adults with the information and knowledge needed to help protect families from digital dangers.

Protect Young Eyes was founded by Chris McKenna, a featured participant in the documentary "Childhood 2.0." His Senate testimony helped spark changes to online protection laws. McKenna and his team are experts in helping families create safer digital spaces. Since 2015, they have performed more than 1,300 presentations at schools, churches and nonprofits.

The presentations will be 7-8:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month:

Oct. 14 - The Digital Culture of Kids
Nov. 11 - Four Layers of Digital Protection
Dec. 9 - The Big 4: Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube
Jan. 13 - Top Digital Safety Tips and Tricks
Feb. 10 - Mental Health, Tech & Our Kids
March 10 - Pornography Harms & Hopes

These community presentations are sponsored by Ivanrest Church and will be held at its location of 3777 Ivanrest Avenue SW in Grandville. Please note, this series will be the public school version, not the faith-based version.
