Dear Parents and Staff,

On Friday, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) announced that they will be following the CDC guidance regarding mask-wearing. We continue to wait for guidance from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA), as they still require masks in the workplace. We also have our Return to School Parent Guide (referenced in our approved Extended COVID-19 Learning Plan) that has been submitted to the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) regarding safety measures (and masks are part of those safety measures). Once we receive guidance from these entities, we may be modifying our mask policy regarding those who have been vaccinated. Yesterday, the CDC confirmed that schools should stay the course.

At this point, we will still be requiring masks for all staff and students indoors and on our buses (at least those without a mask exemption) until additional guidance is received. However, we will not have a mask requirement outdoors!

We believe JULY 1 will bring changes to wearing masks. This is great news as we now believe that it is quite hopeful that we will begin the 2021-2022 school year in a close to normal environment. Thank you all for your patience and understanding throughout this process.

With only 14 school days remaining, we are ready to focus on the bright future that the next school year will provide. Thank you for your partnership!
