Enroll in K/YK for the upcoming school year that begins Aug. 23, 2021.

Enrollment is underway!

Welcome to Grandville! We're glad you're here. These instructions are for enrolling your child in kindergarten or young kindergarten (YK) for the August 2021 through June 2022 school year. Enrollment is completed online through PowerSchool for your convenience. If you have questions, contact our Enrollment Office at registration@gpsbulldogs.org or (616) 254-6584.

Children must be 5 on or before Sept. 1, 2021. However, children who are not 5 on Sept. 1, 2021, but will be 5 no later than Dec. 1, 2021, are eligible for kindergarten or YK if a parent makes a waiver request by June 1 (see waiver below).

Full day kindergarten is offered every day in every elementary school. All day, every day young kindergarten is available but may not be at every school. See our young kindergarten FAQ for more program details. If your child is currently attending young kindergarten at Grandville Public Schools, you do not need to re-enroll.

Proper documentation and proof of residency in our school district are required for enrollment. (Check your property tax records if you're unsure of your school district.) Please have these documents ready to upload:

  • certified birth certificate with seal
  • fall birth date waiver (required only if child's birth date is between Sept. 2 & Dec. 1)
  • most recent immunization record (see board policy and administrative guidelines). This is REQUIRED to start school.
  • two forms of proof of residency in our district. A driver's license or cell phone bill cannot be used as proof. Acceptable proof includes two of the following:
    • a recent utility bill (gas, electric or water)
    • property tax bill
    • lease or mortgage
    • renters or homeowners insurance
  • hearing and vision results from preschool or county
  • IEP/special education paperwork, if applicable
  • medical information form
  • health appraisal form

You did it! What's next? Once enrolled, please stay tuned for an email this spring with information about our parent orientation and kindergarten screenings.

  • Our annual parent orientation will be held via Zoom on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at 7 p.m. Find all the Zoom details here. The meeting will help acquaint parents and guardians with school attendance areas, health information, food service, transportation and kindergarten readiness.
  • Kindergarten screenings help guide conversation around kindergarten vs. young kindergarten placement. The results also help principals and teachers balance classes based on current skills, needs and abilities.
