2022 Elementary & Middle School Robotics Signup

Elementary Robotics

Is your elementary child interested in joining an after-school robotics team? In Grandville Public Schools, students in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grades can join a robotics team.

VEX IQ boardVEX IQ is the largest educational robotics league in the world. Students in grades 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th can be on a VEX IQ robotics team. Teams use special VEX IQ parts to build and program a robot to compete in bi-weekly league play and Saturday tournaments. You can learn more about this year’s VEX IQ game, Slapshot, on YouTube.

Cargo ConnectFIRST Lego League has been a Grandville tradition for over 19 years for students in grades 4th, 5th and 6th. Students build and program a robot using Lego bricks. Teams complete a STEM research project and prepare a presentation explaining their work. You can learn more about the FIRST Lego League game SuperPowered on YouTube.

If your student would like to be on a FIRST Lego League or VEX IQ team this fall, fill out the registration form below. Plan to attend the robotics information meeting at the Robotics Center at 4900 Canal at the intersection of Canal and Jacob. Bring a folding chair. At the information meeting, we will show both the VEX IQ and Lego League games for this season. We’ll explain the flow of each program, reviewing what the kids do and when they compete. Each student can choose whether to join a VEX IQ or Lego League team.
