Grades 2-3

The Grandville robotics program is excited to offer Lego League Jr. for students in 2nd and 3rd grade. This year, students from each Grandville elementary school are invited to take part in the “BOOMTOWN Build” challenge.
 
All Grandville Lego League Jr. teams will meet at the Grandville Robotics & Engineering Center located at 4900 Canal (at the intersection of Canal and Jacob street). A parent is required to accompany each student who participates. The program will be run by adults and high school mentors from the Grandville High School RoboDawgs and team members’ parents.
 
Session one: 4:30–5:45 p.m.
Session two: 6:30–7:45 p.m.
Meeting Dates: 10/2, 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20 and the Expo will be on Saturday, Nov. 23.

Grades 4-6

Is your elementary child interested in joining a robotics team? At Grandville Public Schools, students in 4th, 5th, and 6th grades can join a VEX IQ or FIRST Lego League Robotics team.
 
Kick-off Meeting
Plan to attend the Robotics Kickoff information meeting held at your child’s school:
 
Central Elementary – Tuesday, September 3 at 7:30 pm in the library
Century Park Learning Center - Monday, August 26 at 7:30 pm in the cafeteria
Cummings Elementary – Thursday, September 5 at 7:30 pm in the cafeteria
East Elementary - Thursday, September 5 at 6:00 pm in the library
Grand View Elementary - Monday, August 26 at 6:15 pm in the cafeteria
South Elementary - Tuesday, August 27 at 7:30 pm in the library
West Elementary - Tuesday, September 3 at 6:00 pm in the library

Middle School VEX Robotics teams will start in September.

Informational Meeting
An informational meeting for students and their parents will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. at the Grandville Robotics Center (4900 Canal SW – just south of main high school).

Saturday, August 24, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hudsonville Fair
See the robots in action. Come to the Hudsonville Fair and watch the RoboDawgs' Summer VEX Teams compete at the Fair.

Sunday, August 25, 6:30 p.m. Kick-off BBQ
RoboDawgs' Annual Kick-off BBQ in the Grandville High School cafeteria. All interested high school students and their parents are invited to attend. Meet the coaches and team members and learn about the RoboDawgs.
 
Tuesday, August 27 First full RoboDawgs team meeting
  • 3-5 p.m. Team meeting at the Grandville Robotics & Engineering Center located at 4900 Canal, just south of the high school
  • 7-9 p.m. Alternate time for RoboDawgs who have a conflict from 3-5 p.m.
