Children with special needs starred as quarterbacks or cheerleaders in our stadium on Victory Day, playing ball and cheering with mentors from our varsity teams. The participants took a risk and tried something new in front of a stadium of strangers, and because of their courage, each one is featured here on a different magazine cover. Each and every one of them is a star now.
As you can see, this game was far more fun and meaningful for the students, mentors and crowd than any Super Bowl ever could be. Football coach Eric Stiegel has encouraged the mentors to visit their new friends in the months ahead.
